The Frankfurt Motor Show runs from Thursday 17th September until Sunday 27th September 2015. It is one of the biggest events in the automotive calendar due to its size and significance to the industry. It is held every two years at the Messe Exhibition Centre in Frankfurt and is organised by the German Association of the automotive industry.
The new Prius made its world debut in Frankfurt and was the star of Toyota’s show! The new Prius is set to be the most efficient yet with C02 emissions from its full hybrid powertrain set to improve by 18%. The car uses the first Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform which gives the car a lower centre of gravity for improved handling response and stability.
The new RAV4 hybrid, which will become Toyota’s first hybrid SUV when it is released in 2016, was also on display in Frankfurt. It will be available in two-wheel and all-wheel drive. It will provide better fuel economy with 57.7mpg and 115g/km CO2 emissions. The full RAV4 range will also include the Toyota Safety Sense System.
The C-HR is Toyota’s compact, hybrid power crossover concept. The five door vehicle includes the new TNGA platform that is featured in the Prius and a lighter, more compact hybrid powertrain. The styling adopts a diamond design theme.
Toyota’s top selling European vehicle, Yaris, gave us a look at what the 2016 model would offer. It will feature a new style grade, new colours and the option of a Bi-tone exterior finish.
